Mission Statement
The mission of St George’s Hospital, a Canterbury charity based on a tradition of excellence, is to provide the highest standard of
hospital environment and patient care.
Since 1995, the Hospital has been accredited by Quality Health New Zealand for demonstrating its ongoing commitment to continuous quality improvement in all aspects of service, treatment and care. In 2002 the ACC Workplace Safety Management Programme Tertiary level status was achieved and this achievement has been maintained. Since 2004 the Hospital has held Ministry of Health Certification. |  | |
 | The Maternity Unit at St George’s Hospital has been caring for mothers and babies since 1941 – with that level of experience we really do understand that every mother’s requirements and wishes are unique. Our Maternity Unit has been BFHI accredited (Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative) since 2005. | |
